We will train you in most areas of interest free of charge. Members may become involved in boating activities such as safety patrols (on the water), public education classes, vessel safety checks and marine/environmental safety. Opportunities also exist in the Air Operations program for qualified private pilots (private aircrafts are accepted) and non-pilot members can train as Air Observers. Public Affairs, Computer Services and IT opportunities, Publications, Auxiliary Culinary Assistance Specialists (both on land and at sea), Member Training and Radio Communications (CG Watch Standers) are also areas of interest. Boat owners may join and offer their boats as Operational Facilities. Professional health care personnel and qualified clergy also help to augment the Coast Guard missions and are in high demand. Personal expenses involve uniforms and local travel. Most operational activities are conducted under U.S. Coast Guard issued orders (either reimbursable or non-reimbursable). Fellowship is also a key cornerstone with fun events throughout the year. Military veterans - use your knowledge to help with CG missions! Must be at least 17 YOA to join and a U.S. citizen.
