Join the Institute for Regional Conservation in this exciting project with the City of Boca Raton! On Friday, April 11th from 9 am to 11 am. IRC and our volunteers will be working together to remove nonnative species from the park and the beach dune. Please meet us at in front of the picnic table area (in front of main bathrooms) at Red Reef Park, make a left into the park, and park in front of the bathroom area. A map of where to meet will be sent to your email upon registration. We will have a sign in table at the picnic tables in front of the bathroom area. Groups of volunteers will be instructed how to remove nonnative plants and learn about coastal ecosystems.

There is no experience required! So grab a friend and come out to help repair the essential biodiversity of Red Reef Park's beach dune…

About The Institute for Regional Conservation

Location:

100 East Linton Boulevard, Suite 302B, Delray Beach, FL 33483, US

Mission Statement

A private non-profit organization, The Institute for Regional Conservation (IRC) is dedicated to the protection, restoration, and long-term management of biodiversity on a regional basis, and to the prevention of regional extinctions of rare plants, animals and ecosystems.

Description

Based in Florida, USA, IRC works on conservation research and action throughout South Florida, the Caribbean and beyond. Our work is premised on an innovative idea of conservation that seeks to protect and restore viable populations of all plant and animal species within a region, rather than simply focusing on charismatic animals or plants with narrow global ranges.
