Join our team and Cultivate Initiatives to help upcycle plastic waste into a house for a homeless coalition. We have already set the foundation for the home and our next steps are to use our sheetpressed plastic material for the walls. At Recycled Living there are many ways to help if you believe in either reducing industrial plastic waste or creating sustainable housing options for our homeless neighbors. We do not just neep people to help build the houses, but help promoting and growing the community is just as valuable.

About Recycled Living

Location:

PO Box 4587, Portland, OR 97208, US

Mission Statement

Recycled Living is on a mission to create better housing solutions for our unhoused neighbors by transforming plastic waste into unique building materials.

Description

Recycled Living’s primary objective is to create a better housing option for Safe Rest Housing Villages. This successful model, created to temporarily house our neighbors, is working across Portland, however, the housing designs and materials are falling short. Recycled Living’s process begins by taking plastic headed to the landfill and using it to fabricate modular building materials. The modularity and inherent low cost is what will enable a new housing design to increase affordability and lower carbon emissions, while being more livable and more sustainable. We can supply partner organizations with a carbon-free affordable alternative to the dysfunctioning and costly current model.
