Lenox Hill Neighborhood House is a 131-year-old settlement hours widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers. Founded in 1894 as a free kindergarten for immigrant chidren, the Neighborhood House now serves 16,000 people in need each year through a wide array of effective and integrated services--social, educational, legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness.
We are seeking volunteer artists to lead arts-based activities in a small group setting in CARE, the Neighborhood House's day program for older adults living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Volunteers are needed to run one group per week on Tuesdays, 11:00am-12:00pm. This is a great opportunity for those with a background in visual art to share their skill and talent in a therapeutic environment.

Description
Lenox Hill Neighborhood House was founded in 1894 by the Alumnae Association of Normal College (now known as Hunter College of the City University of New York) as a free kindergarten for the children of indigent immigrants. Since then, we have remained at the forefront of community advocacy and social and educational change.
