Volunteer Position: 1:1 Language Tutor (English or Korean)

Organization: Empowering Korean Immigrants

Mission: Our mission is to empower Korean immigrants in Canada by offering free language lessons, translations, and book reading for children. We strive to raise awareness among Korean immigrants against discrimination and provide them with the tools to succeed in their new environment.

Position Overview:
As a 1:1 Language Tutor, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Korean immigrants by teaching English or Korean. You will work with a student based on their specific needs, helping them improve their language skills and gain confidence in their communication abilities.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct 1:1 language lessons in either English or Korean, tailored to the student's needs.
- Utilize Google Meet for online classes, ensuring a smooth and engaging learning experience.
- Provide guidance, support, and encouragement to help students achieve their language learning goals.
- Track student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
- Report volunteer hours and class updates to the program coordinator.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in English and/or Korean. [Proficiency in both languages is preferred, but is not mandatory]
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and helping others.
- Ability to commit to one hour per week for online tutoring sessions.
