To help females learn the mathematics--and "numbers-related" disciplines they need to achieve their academic and career goals; to teach mathematics correctly (i.e., according to the tenets of neuroscience and cognitive psychology).

Description

Founded in 1999, Helicon, Inc. (the Mathematics Resource and Support Center for Females) has offered a variety of courses, classes, and workshops to females of all ages. Currently, our focus is on helping middle school girls in New York City achieve a sufficiently-high score on the SHSAT and gain admission to one of the "Elite Eight" high schools (SHSAT Prep Course for African American and Latina Girls.) Helicon, Inc.'s test prep activities for females were featured in a New York Times article:
