About NATIONAL CRISIS RESPONSE CANINES

Location:

123 Second Avenue, Suite 230 No. 52, Edmonds, WA 98020, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to harness the power of the human+canine bond to inspire resilience and recovery in people affected by crisis, trauma or disaster, and the responders who help them.

Description

When someone is hurting, there are things we can do. NATIONAL Crisis Response Canine teams respond to crisis, trauma and disasters in our own communities and in communities across the United States.

Whether an act of nature, accident of man, or act of terrorism, the psychological first aid that reaches individuals in the golden hour immediately following is critical in reducing the distress of traumatic events and preventing long lasting dysfunction in the individual, the family and the community.

For more than 20 years, NATIONAL Crisis Response Canine teams have responded to assist the child, the family, the veteran and the victim of crime overwhelmed by personal crisis; the neighborhoods coming together after a disaster; and communities touched by a tragedy at school.

NATIONAL Crisis Response Canine teams respond alongside other responders, community organizations, law enforcement, NGO's and counselors without charge. The methods we use are developed by the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, the National Center for PTSD, and the ICISF International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. Each NATIONAL volunteer is certified, credentialed, insured and cleared for criminal history background.

Consider becoming a force for good in your community by serving those who are hurting, and those who serve. Train with us, with or without a canine, to develop the skills that make a difference for someone in crisis.
