Join our Summer STEAM Camp as a Volunteer and support the behind-the-scenes operations of our exciting, hands-on learning experiences! Volunteers play a vital role in helping camp run smoothly by assisting with materials management, facilitating maker challenges, and providing logistical support to the staff. If you have a passion for STEAM education and enjoy working with students, this is the perfect opportunity to contribute.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide students through Maker Challenges, RAFT kit explorations, and team project ideas.

  • Assist with the organization, preparation, and distribution of materials and supplies for daily camp activities.

  • Help build and test sample kits that will be used in STEAM projects, ensuring everything is functional and ready for RAFT campers.

  • Support instructors and staff by setting up equipment, tools, and workstations for hands-on activities.

  • Ensure materials are properly organized, inventoried, and restocked as needed throughout the camp session.

  • Provide assistance with cleaning and maintaining work areas to create a safe and welcoming environment for campers.

  • Collaborate with camp staff to troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during activities.

  • Participate in setup and breakdown of camp areas before and after camp sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiasm for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) education and hands-on projects.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly in managing materials and kits.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to support the camp’s operational needs.

  • Patience, adaptability, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be at least 14 years old and able to pass a background check.

  • No prior experience required, but familiarity with STEAM activities or working with students is a plus.
