Mission Statement
HealHurt Foundation empowers communities, advocates against harmful practices, and provides sustainable solutions for individuals and communities. We provide job integration and retention services in the Diaspora, as well as international projects against FGM, KUSH and health related outcomes.
Description
At Healhurt Diaspora Project, we empower refugees, minorities, and low-income individuals in the US by providing support services that help them integrate into society, build confidence, and secure meaningful employment. We offer free job readiness programs, including CV writing, interview preparation, and job placement assistance.
We also run the KUSH and FGM Projects in the Manor River countries of West Africa, including Sierra Leone, advocating against harmful practices like Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, we aim to raise awareness, promote cultural change, and protect the rights of women and girls. As part of these efforts, we provide scholarships to girls and young women affected by FGM to help them access education and build better futures.
Our programs include workshops on leadership, communication, mindfulness, conflict resolution, career pathing, and cultural awareness. We also offer Siesta Key Residential Services (opening July 2026), a safe day-boarding space for youth and individuals with disabilities, focusing on arts, crafts, life skills coaching, tutoring, and vocational training.
Our achievements include helping refugees and individuals towards employment, building a supportive network, and fostering leadership. Volunteers are key to our success, and we welcome those committed to social change.
