CIAA Fan Fest Day Two Bone Marrow Registry Drive
ORGANIZATION: There Goes My Hero
Please visit the new page to apply.
More than 150,000 people will descend on Baltimore
for five action-packed days of basketball, entertainment, and networking
when the nation’s oldest African American athletic conference, the
Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), hosts its CIAA
Championship Basketball Tournament.
A popular site to meet and get in the spirit, Fan Fest offers music,
food, dance, and socializing, and There Goes My Hero will be at the
event to educate and encourage people to join the bone marrow registry.
Help us add new potential donors to the registry by volunteering with us!

Description
There Goes My Hero has variety of programs and initiatives, such as bone marrow donor registry drives, the Hero Fund, Color the Registry, and Join for Joe.
Since 2009, we have:
Registered 23,134 potential lifesavers onto the bone marrow donor registry
Found 709 matches
Facilitate 67 life-saving transplants
Provided 155,985 meals to patients
Volunteers educate people on the importance of joining the bone marrow donor registry and facilitate the swabbing process for those who are interested in registering. Volunteers also prepare and serve meals for the cancer patients and caregivers at Johns Hopkins Hackerman-Patz Patient and Family Pavilion, create cards of encouragement, and stuff farting animals for pediatric cancer patients. There Goes My Hero also has in-office volunteer opportunities, including opportunities to write "Thank You" letters to our donors, call businesses for donations, and more!
