MLK Jr. Day of Service at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Over 250,000 people flocked to the National Mall to hear Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, but we're seeking a more manageable number for this event.

Be part of a monumental day at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens with the Student Conservation Association on January 18! This supersized event has something for everyone to help conserve this urban oasis: trail maintenance, invasive species removal, litter cleanup, and even citizen science to document the park's plant and animal life.

Bring yourselves and your enthusiasm to 1550 Anacostia Ave NE at 9:00 AM to receive tools, training, and task assignments before embarking on a morning of impactful service in honor of King's legacy. Please also register with the SCA to guarantee your spot!

See you in the gardens!
