New Vision Organization, Inc., is a nonprofit 501 (C)(4) organized for Social Welfare purposes, serving MASSACHUSETTS, First-Time Offenders of Any Offense and assisting with their Civil Rights Violations. NVO consists of volunteers workk to ensure incarcerated individuals serving long-term and life sentences receive the Medical, Psychological, Legal, educational and/or spiritual support requested and needed for prisoners to cope with unrealistic sentences handed down by the courts.

NVO Allies with advocates nationwide, to ensure prisoner’s rights are not violated and that they receive the rehabilitation treatment Dept. of Corrections nationwide, are mandated to provide, although fail to do is many situations.

NVO is adamantly against Solitary Confinement and Restrictive Housing Units and fights to bring awareness via social media and Radio Broadcasting, of the damaging effects of such punishment. Our philosophical belief is that individuals heal when their treatment is responsive to their needs and outside support is made available to them. We also encourage family members to also help in some way as we do not receive funding of any sort.

Interested Licensed Psychologist/s can contact the NVO Director, Leonna Abraham Brandao - nvopres@verizon.net

About NEW VISION ORGANIZATION INC

Location:

P.O. Box 97, RANDOLPH, MA 02368, US

Mission Statement

Promote the well being human, civil rights and rehabilitation treatment of first-time offenders of any offense, serving life and life without parole sentences, to encourage public awareness of conditions through education and advocacy efforts, facilitate receipt of medical care and access to legal information and representation, participate in peaceful rallies pertaining to abuses and severe deprivations, as well as unnecessary harsh sentences, raise funds to sustain the foregoing activities and purposes, advocate for Prison Reform, Parole Reform and abolishment of harsh sentences such as life and life without parole.

Description

New Vision Organization was founded in 2004 and was initially advocating for the incarcerated men, women and youth nationwide. In 2014, the focus was changed to address and advocate for the first-time offenders serving life and life without parole for a first time offense of any type in Massachusetts ONLY. NVO Volunteers assist the incarcerated with various issues and/or goals. Many incarcerated individuals seek help with civil rights' violations, such as being denied access to educational and vocational programs, being put in Solitary Confinement on bogus disciplinary reports, etc. While others seek help with advocacy in areas of denial of medical and/or psychological treatment. New Vision Organization, Inc networks with advocates nationwide and shares and obtains valuable resources pertaining to Probono Legal Help, Free Books to Prisoners, Pen Pals, Educational Correspondence Courses and much more. Media is denied access to the prisons which is a serious problem as prisoners have no voice. Thus advocates working with the incarcerated are their voices and allows for opportunities to get the stories out to the media if it involves abuses, deprivations, violations, denied medical and/or psychological treatments, etc.
