Volunteer Opportunity: Experienced Fundraiser for Women’s Shelter in Madagascar
About the Role:We are seeking an experienced fundraiser to join our critical mission of establishing a women’s shelter in Madagascar. The shelter will provide medical, emotional, and legal support to survivors of rape, sexual violence, and forced child marriages. Additionally, the shelter will offer vocational training to help women rebuild their lives and achieve independence.
Why Join Us?- A Meaningful and Urgent Mission: Madagascar faces widespread instances of rape, sexual violence, and forced child marriages, leaving many women without any support. Our shelter will provide a safe haven, protection, and an opportunity for a fresh start.
- Immediate Impact: With your expertise, you can help secure the necessary resources and ensure the project moves forward swiftly.
- End-of-Year Opportunity: Donations during the end of the year offer significant tax benefits for U.S. donors and beyond, increasing the potential for successful and efficient fundraising.
- An experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of building donor relationships, driving campaigns, and achieving measurable results.
- A self-starter who can identify opportunities, act quickly, and help us maximize our fundraising efforts.
The end of the year is a critical time for fundraising, as it allows donors to leverage tax benefits while making a direct and meaningful impact. Together, we can ensure the project is completed on time and delivers the essential support that these women desperately need.
If you’re ready to use your expertise to save lives and change the future for countless women, now is the time to join us. Together, we can make a real and tangible difference!

Mission Statement
Innovation Respecting Culture. IRC Africa, a registered 501(c)(3) organization (tax exempt) in the USA, operates in southern Madagascar, a region facing economic hardships and significant unemployment among women. We focus on empowering women, enhancing their safety and independence, and addressing gender-based violence, sexual exploitation, and forced early marriages. Additionally, we provide emotional, medical, and legal support to women while respecting local culture and ensuring sustainability for a secure and sustainable future
Description
What We Do
IRC Africa empowers communities in southern Madagascar. We’ve provided sorghum seeds to hundreds of families facing drought, restoring their economic independence. We’ve enrolled 15 children in private schools for quality education, supported women in starting businesses, and funded vocational training to strengthen independence. By providing nutritional assistance, we address hunger and improve health, with a goal to eliminate food insecurity. Your support makes this possible. Join us-every donation counts!
Planned Projects
- Women’s Safety: Shelters and centers for victims of rape and violence will offer medical, emotional, and legal support, plus vocational training for economic independence. Our CEO is in Ambovombe, Madagascar, preparing to launch the women’s shelter project.
- Entrepreneurship: Centers will provide training and support for small businesses, empowering women and improving employment.
- Technology: A software house and tech campus will deliver IT training, develop AI solutions, and create jobs for women and youth.
- Sustainability: We promote environmental education, sustainable agriculture, and clean water solutions to combat malnutrition and improve health.
Together, these efforts build a brighter future for local communities.
