  • Do you like to have fun? Connect with others? Learn about yourself?

If you said yes to any of the above, then we need you!

Foundation Communities is a local nonprofit dedicated to providing quality affordable housing and support services to families and individuals. We operate free after school programs at 12 Learning Centers all over Austin. Students at our centers have diverse language backgrounds. While all students speak English at school, several students at our Sierra Vista (78745), Sierra Ridge (78745), Southwest Trails (78735), Vintage Creek (78723), and Cardinal Point (78726) centers speak Spanish at home. Volunteers with this language skill or shared cultural experience can offer invaluable learning support to and connection with our Spanish-speaking students.

We are seeking volunteers to support our after-school classrooms and help students Kindergarten-5 th with reading, enrichment activities, STEM, fitness, and social emotional skills!

Programs run Monday through Friday between 3:30pm and 6:00pm, with volunteer shifts available during that time. We can offer flexibility for arrival and departure within these times. To start, volunteers commit to at least one regular shift per week for the term.

Volunteers must complete an online application, pass a background check (no cost to the volunteer), and complete an orientation course. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

Our orientation courses are open now for the after-school program. Let us know you're interested for information on how to get started!
