Comfort Zone Camp is the nation's largest bereavement camp. The weekend camps are held year-round in Virginia, New Jersey, California, North Carolina and Massachusetts as well as partnership camps in several other states.

Comfort Zone Camps create an environment where grieving children can have fun and break the isolation death often brings, while learning valuable coping skills for their daily lives. All camp programs are free of charge.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 15
  • Orientation or Training
  • Most of our volunteer opportunities involve volunteering at our in-person camps, which typically run from Friday around 2:30-3:30 and end on Sunday around 4.
  • You do not have to have your own loss, you do not have to have a clinical background, you do not have to 'fix' a child. You simply need to be present for the camper you are matched with for the weekend. Listen to them and help them have fun.
