Thank you for your interest in volunteering locally with the American Heart Association! We are always looking for volunteers to help us in the implementation of our on-going campaigns and special fundraising events. In this case, you'll be helping with our Broward Heart Walk.
The Broward Heart Walk mobilize about 4000 community members, leaders, corporations, etc. together to celebrate the impact we’re making locally for health equity. Heart disease remains to be the #1 killer of men and women, and unfortunately, taking the lives of 1/3 women. The Heart Walk celebrates survivors and deepens the work we’re doing locally for heart health awareness.
What to wear?
Please wear whatever appropriate clothing you will be comfortable in, keeping in mind you will be working outside in the heat. Shorts and t-shirts are fine. For footwear, please wear sneakers or other comfortable closed toed shoes. If you’re volunteering for the actual Walk Day, the grass tends to be very wet in the morning, so your shoes will get wet.
We will have volunteer shirts for those working on the actual Heart Walk on Sunday.
What About Food?
The American Heart Association will provide you with snacks and water. Please have a good meal before arriving.
