This opportunity is for current residents of New Jersey who have the ability to commute to downtown Newark on Saturdays from 12:45pm to 3:45pm (November to June).
A committed coaching team is needed to support Purple Reign's (girls ages 12-21) 2024-2025 cheerleading/stomp & shake team.
The girls have little to no formal training but high desire and willingness to learn. The team currently has six girls, but is growing. The team is fairly busy, often being invited to perform in high visibility events such as NBA games and parades. So the ability to "fall in quickly" would be important. You will be paired with two strong, experienced coaches - both of whom reside in New York. A New Jersey resident is strongly preferred for occasions where the team may have an early South Jersey event. (For instance, the team just participated in their first parade in Atlantic City - which was difficult for our coaches to get to).
Coaching experience is not required but dedication is! Competitive dance experience is a plus. We will support you as you grow. No phone calls please.

Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.
SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
