Join us for NAMIWalks St. Louis and make a difference!
We're gearing up for our 23rd annual NAMIWalks St. Louis on May 10, 2025, and we need passionate volunteers like you to help make it a success!
NAMIWalks is a powerful event that raises awareness and funds for mental health programs and services in the St. Louis community. By volunteering, you'll be part of a movement that supports individuals and families affected by mental illness.
We have a variety of volunteer roles available, including:
- Registration: Welcome walkers and help them check in.
- Route Support: Cheer on walkers and provide assistance along the route.
- Set-up/Tear-down: Help with event logistics before and after the walk.
- Walk Committee: Variety of needs. Team and/or sponsorship communication, kick-off planning, behind the scenes tasks, recruitment, and more.
- And more!

NAMI St. Louis provides education, support, and advocacy to improve the lives of people affected by mental illness.
Description
The National Alliance On Mental Illness (NAMI) is a national organization headquartered in Arlington Virginia with affiliates in all 50 states. The St. Louis affiliate was founded in 1978 by families affected by schizophrenia.
An array of programs are offered - most using a peer to peer model. Programs for people with mental illness are led by people who also have a mental illness. Family programs are led by people who have experienced mental illness in their own families.
NAMI believes recovery from mental illness is possible. It advocates for policies, treatments, and supports that improve the likelihood of recovery.
