M.W. Boudreaux Visitor Center - Desk Attendant

The desk attendant will perform the following duties in the Visitor Center and at other locations around the project as agreed to by the volunteer and the Corps.
Visitor Center Duties
- Volunteer shall answer questions, provide information about Mark Twain Lake, and hand out information to the visitors. The schedule for these services is outlined in Section 6, WORK SCHEDULE.
- Perform inspections of the Visitor Center and Boudreaux Recreation Area to check for safety hazards or maintenance deficiencies and report the problems to the Volunteer Coordinator.
- Place out of order signs on restroom facilities when a problem occurs that cannot be corrected immediately. If the problem is severe, the volunteer will close and lock the facility.
- Inform visitors of policies and procedures, rules and regulations (Title 36 brochure). Report any major Title 36 violations to on-duty Park Rangers or the Mark Twain Lake Project Office. Volunteers will NOT do any enforcement.
- Report any emergency, vandalism or suspicious activities to on-duty Park Rangers, the Mark Twain Lake Project Office or the Ralls County Sheriff Office.
- Conduct Customer Satisfaction Surveys as requested by the Corps.
- The desk attendant may be assigned other duties at Mark Twain Lake as agreed to by Mark Twain Lake staff and the desk attendant.
- The Visitor Center Host is responsible for opening/closing the M.W. Boudreaux Visitor Center daily. If unable to do so, please notify the Volunteer Coordinator Lead and/or the ISOP Lead.
Work Schedule
- Total work hours (couple) will be approximately 32 hours per week, working two days weekly.
- Total work hours (individual) will be approximately 20 hours per week, alternating between 2 - 3 every week.
Visitor Center Duties
- Host A Tuesday/Wednesday. 7:45 am - 4:15 pm. The desk attendant should be available to open, staff, and close the Visitor Center. The desk attendant should also perform Visitor Center and/or adjacent recreation area inspections during this time
- Host B Thursday/Friday 7:45 am - 4:15 pm. The desk attendant should be available to open, staff, and close the Visitor Center. The desk attendant should also perform Visitor Center and/or adjacent recreation area inspections during this time.
