The Fix-It Program helps seniors in Ocean County maintain independence in their homes through a group of volunteers who perform minor repairs, free of charge. This program is staffed completely by volunteers. CALL 732-363-5322 VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR EXT. 3234
TYPES OF PROJECTS FIX-IT VOLUNTEERS MAY PERFORM:Install grab bars and safety hand rails
Repair minor electrical problems (such as faulty light switches)
Do minor carpentry repairs
Do minor plumbing (such as leaky faucets and running toilets)
Change storm windows and doors
Weather stripping and caulking
Replace batteries in smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors
Change light bulbs
Change furnace and air conditioner filters
Install curtain and drapery hardware
Fix small appliances
Perform seasonal outside jobs (based upon volunteer availability)

Description
Our volunteer opportunities include:
Community Services- Work in one of our food pantries, organizing donations and assisting with general office duties. We have pantries in Burlington, Mercer and Ocean counties.
- Performing minor home repairs for seniors in Ocean County with our Fix-It Program. Volunteers do many of the same simple tasks they would do in their own homes. This is a great opportunity for both skilled and unskilled volunteers.
