The annual King Holiday Observance is a time that we celebrate, commemorate and honor the life, legacy and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our strategic theme for 2025 is 'Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365′.
The Kick-Off Reception is the opening event for the 2024 King Holiday Observance and is an invitation to the public to join us in celebrating and commemorating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. All are invited to this gathering and celebration of the 2024 King Holiday Observance.
Volunteers will serve in roles such as set up, greeters, book signing attendants, breakdown and more.

- Volunteer Shifts:
- 3 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.
- 5:00 P.M. - 8:30 P.M.
- Attire: Professional all black or black pants and white shirt/top
- Location: The King Center, Freedom Hall
- Parking: Free parking is available at the National Park Services parking lot, which is across the street from The King Center. The entrance is on John Wesley Dobbs Drive. The address is 423 John Wesley Dobbs, Atlanta, GA 30312.

Description
Established in 1968 by Mrs. Coretta Scott King, The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change ("The King Center") has been a global destination, resource center and community institution for over a quarter century.The King Center is a 501(c)3. Nearly a million people each year make pilgrimage to the National Historic Site to learn, be inspired and pay their respects to Dr. King’s legacy.
The King Center is repositioning to meet the challenges and opportunities of today. Squarely-focused on serving as both a local and global resource, the King Center is dedicated to educating the world on the life, legacy and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., inspiring new generations to carry forward his unfinished work, strengthen causes and empower change-makers who are continuing his efforts today.
