Position Overview:
Bell Ringers play a crucial role in The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign, raising vital funds that support food, shelter, and other services for individuals and families in need. As a Bell Ringer, you’ll serve as the face of The Salvation Army in your community, spreading holiday cheer and encouraging donations at an assigned kettle location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stand at a designated kettle location during your scheduled shift.
  • Ring the bell to attract attention and welcome passersby in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Greet individuals with holiday cheer, using phrases such as "Merry Christmas" or "Thank you."
  • Represent The Salvation Army in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner.
  • Keep the kettle stand area clean and safe.
  • Notify the Kettle Coordinator promptly if you are unable to fulfill your scheduled shift.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old (or accompanied by an adult if under 18).
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (typically 2-4 hours).
  • Friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Willingness to follow guidelines provided by The Salvation Army.

Description

The Salvation Army has a vibrant expession in Orange County with four churches that offer a place for spiritual growth and ministry opportunities in our community.

Our Hospitality House houses 50 men in a shelter and job search program to enable them to live independant lives. In 2015 we break ground for a 75 bed facility.

We offer transitional housing for families in a 1 year program with case management for jobs, education and practical skills.

Our 5 Family Services Offices have food banks for low-income seniors and families in Orange County as well as emergency rent and utility assistance.

OC614 is our Homeless Ministry where the homeless are engaged one-on-one or in groups to provide needed services and counselling.

We participate in the Orange County Network of Emergency Trafficking Services to aid the victiims of human trafficking.

Our Women's Auxiliary is a "hands on" women's group providing assistance to all Salvation Army programs in Orange County.

The Salvation Army provides excellent preschool and afterschool programs in Tustin and Anaheim.
