At Project EATS we are determined to increase the well-being of individuals and to improve the social, economic, and cultural viability of their communities. During our farm season we are able to provide fresh and local produce to the Brownsville community. Thanks to United Way and the Foodbank of NYC, we are able to supply shelf-stable food items, protein options, and produce (year-round) through our monthly Food Pantry Program.

About PROJECT EATS INC

Location:

178 BROOME ST 4TH FLOOR, NEW YORK, NY 10002, US

Mission Statement

We seek to catalyze residents to create conditions that transform their food-insecure neighborhoods into vital hubs for health and well-being.

Description

We strive to be catalysts for change, providing opportunities for creative expression and experiential learning.

Through our art programs, we provide a range of activities and opportunities that includes the integration and creation of art as a mode of communication, action, and reflection in which individuals and groups of residents engage.

Through our farming and food programs, we work with residents and other neighborhood stakeholders to create a network of community-based small plot, high-yield farms. Our small-scale manufacturing operations produce food-based and agricultural products.

Life is how we use, value, and share what we create to survive and thrive.

Our end goal is to increase the well-being of individuals and to improve the social, economic, and cultural viability of their communities. We provide food and wellness-oriented workshops, community meals and events, and "food-as-medicine" programs to support people’s efforts to live healthier lives.
