Program Assistant
Job Title: Program Assistant
Volunteer Role Summary:
Reports to: Program Director or Station Manager
Location: REMOTE/On Location
Volunteer Opportunity Type: [Part-Time]The Program Assistant will support our digital radio station's programming team by handling various administrative tasks, assisting with scheduling, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the station’s broadcast schedule. The Program Assistant will work closely with the Program Director and other staff to coordinate and organize programming, maintain schedules, and support content creation.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in managing the station's on-air programming schedule, ensuring that all content is aired according to the station’s programming plan.
- Coordinate with hosts, producers, and other station personnel to confirm show availability and timing.
- Maintain up-to-date records of programming, including show logs, guest bookings, and content schedules.
- Help track and manage music playlists, community announcements, and advertising spots.
- Coordinate guest appearances, interviews, and live broadcasts.
- Support the Program Director with research and content development.
- Organize and prepare program materials (scripts, rundowns, guest information).
- Assist with the production of promotional materials and station branding.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Station Manager.
- Previous experience in a media, radio, or broadcasting environment (internships welcome).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of radio programming and operations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) or equivalent software.
- Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with radio automation software or content management systems (e.g., RadioDJ, ProTools, or similar platforms).
- Experience in social media management or event coordination.
