Description
NorthStar Church of the Arts is a multidisciplinary community arts org and presenter in Durham NC. Founded by legendary musician Nnenna Freelon and her husband, renowned architect Phil Freelon, NorthStar is a community hub that supports art as a tool for healing and building community power. We offer music and performance art, movement workshops, visual art exhibitions, community events, and a monthly Sunday Service. We focus on uplifting working class, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ stories to enhance the cultural landscape of Durham and ensure safe community space for marginalized people.
