Hospice is often a scary word but there is so much hope to be found in hospice and all it provides. One of the amazing ways we serve our patients, and their families, is through our volunteer program. Both the volunteer and the certified therapy animal provide comfort, companionship and a welcome distraction to the patient and family.

Essentials:

* Pet therapy certification from an approved program*

* Current immunization records (rabies and distemper) and health screen for the pet, updated annually as required

* Therapy animal/handler liability insurance coverage

Dogs must be certified through an AKC recognized therapy dog organization.
