  • This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity and as an Associate, you are required to contribute a minimum of 5 hours per week.
  • Associates must be willing to attend the meeting in EST Timezone and be responsive to emails within 36 hours.
  • STW­(tm) will provide a "letter of recommendation" to volunteers, students & professionals who are able to showcase outstanding performance for school/university credit and for professional references.

Save the Water(tm) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to conduct water research to identify and remove harmful contaminants in water, and to raise public awareness about water contamination and its health impacts. STW­(tm) also offers educational programs to excite young minds about water science.

Our volunteers are diverse professionals from all over the world bringing their knowledge and experience to STW­(tm) because we care deeply about our communities and water resources. We learn and collaborate in an open and empowering work environment to find long-term solutions to the water contamination problem. Our vision is "Contamination free, healthy water for all"

The Role:

We are looking for a graphic designer to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media. With the redesign of STW website, the volunteer will be required to create marketing communication materials in sync with the website design.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Design brochures, posters, marketing display stands, reports, advertisements, and other marketing communication materials.
  • Responsible for creating images that coordinate with STW(tm) marketing content, articles, and impact stories.
  • Ensure all creative and branded materials are completed in proper templates and that messaging is within branding standards.
  • Proofread creative deliverables for clarity, grammar, and spelling.
  • Coordinate and monitor the maintenance, integrity, and security of several databases which includes purging non-deliverable email addresses and opt-outs.
  • Work with Project Leader to produce final design

Apply Now if you have:

  • Associates degree completed or comparable work experience (at least 6 months to a year full time paid corporate/non-profit work experience)
  • Familiarity with design software and technologies preferred (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
  • Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public. Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.
