TAC’s Helpline team of staff and volunteers supports individuals and families with empathetic listening, emotional support, and resources and information to support their next steps as they navigate the complex systems that intersect with severe mental illness.

Mission Statement

TAC’s mission is to eliminate the barriers to timely and effective treatment of severe mental illness (SMI) through advocacy, public education, and support for individuals and families affected by SMI.

Description

TAC is the only national nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating barriers to the timely and effective treatment of severe mental illness (SMI).

While many nonprofits are committed to awareness and treatment of many mental health disorders, TAC purposefully has an exclusive focus on severe mental illness, as this population faces the most complex challenges and barriers to treatment within the mental health system.
