Do you feel you can be a calming presence to long term patients who don’t have friend or family support? If yes, then please consider being a part of our VOLUNTEER COMPASSIONATE COMPANION TEAM! We have lonely patients who really could use some companionship. If you feel comfortable, there may be opportunities for you to sit with patients who are in their last stages of life. Training for this is mandatory. We are especially in need of Spanish speaking volunteers. Available 7 days/week, 10am-7pm
This opportunity is available to the general public but not undergraduate students. Undergrads may apply at the UNC Hospitals volunteering website.

UNC Hospitals has three categories of volunteers: Community, Undergraduate, and High School (age 14-18). We offer a wide variety of unique volunteer opportunities throughout the entire UNC hospital system. Our many volunteers play an integral role in delivering first-class health care to you, your family, and the entire state of North Carolina.
