Position Overview:

The Medical Biotechnology Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching courses on the principles and applications of biotechnology in medicine, including drug development, diagnostics, and therapeutic innovations.

Location: Remote

Start Time: Jan 6, 2025

Time Commitment: 2 to 6 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

    • Simulation Support: Assist in conducting virtual simulations and role-playing exercises focused on medical biotechnology techniques like PCR, CRISPR, and cell culture.
    • Teaching Support: Facilitate discussions, group activities, and assist with course materials on topics such as genetic engineering, biopharmaceuticals, and biotechnology ethics.
    • Grading: Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, and maintain accurate student records.
    • Student Assistance: Provide clarification and support for students’ understanding of biotechnology concepts, lab techniques, and real-world applications.
    • Resource Development: Help create educational resources, including case studies and guides on emerging technologies in medical biotechnology.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field; graduate students preferred.
    • Strong understanding of medical biotechnology techniques, applications, and ethical considerations.
    • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
    • Ability to communicate complex biotechnology concepts in an accessible way.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
