About Youth Action Services, Inc.:

Youth Action Services Inc (YAS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to suppoting children impacted by homeslessness. YAS's programs and services are designed to foster a more effective system that avlues each child, aiming to break down barriers and create opportunities for them to thrive. UAS's mission focuses on embracing and empowering children in the muncipal shelter system by developing a holistic approach that integrates mental health support to address their unqiue needs comprehensively.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and detailed oriented Grant Writer to join our team as a volunteer. This role is pivotal in helping Youth Action Services secure funding to expand our programs and achieve our mission. As a Grant Writer, you will research, draft, and submit grant proposals to potential funding organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Research grant opportunities that align with our mission and programs.
  • Develop and write compelling grant proposals tailored to each funding opportunity.
  • Maintain an organized calednar to track submission deadlines and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with LT to gather necessary information, such as program details, budgets, and impact data, for grant applications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with grant making organizations.
  • Provide regilar updates on grant application statuses and results.

Qualifications:

  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or related fields (preferred but not required).
  • Excellent research skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for Youth Action Services' mission and commitment to making a difference.

Description

Youth Action Services, Inc is a new 501c3 organization. Understanding Brooklyn, NY serves some of the cities poorest neighborhoods which includes high number of homelessness. I am pleased to introduce this new organization as it is the mission, duty, and purpose of You Action Services, Inc to address, educate, coordinate and provide tools to children who have been impacted by losing their home. The services we plan to provide include After-School program; mentoring program; summer day camp; and therapeutic services. We are connecting with professionals to help fulfill our mission and also taking necessary steps to become an outpatient clinic under article 31.
