The qualifications are simple: have a caring heart and be sensitive to the needs of others. A strong sense of empathy is another important piece of helping patients during their illness. Volunteer play a huge part of hospice care. Our volunteers provide companionship and support to our patients and caregivers. No time or deed is too small when working with hospice patients and families.
All volunteers must attend orientation. You decide the number of hours you can dedicate each week or month and how far from your home or office you want to travel.
