As Secretary, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the organization runs smoothly and adheres to its governance practices. This is an opportunity to contribute your organizational skills to support a mission-driven team and help create meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:

• Record and maintain accurate minutes for board and committee meetings.
• Ensure timely distribution of meeting notices, agendas, and materials to board members.
• Oversee the organization’s official records, including bylaws, policies, and governance documents.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory filing requirements (e.g., annual reports).
• Collaborate with the Board Chair and Executive Director to support effective communication and follow-up on board decisions.
• Uphold confidentiality and act as a key resource for board members regarding governance procedures.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to document discussions and decisions clearly.
• Experience with recordkeeping or administrative duties (preferred but not required).
• Familiarity with nonprofit governance or a willingness to learn.
• Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

Time Commitment:

This role requires approximately 4-6 hours per month, including attendance at regular board meetings typically held monthly for 30-45 minutes for updates and strategic actions forward.
