ORGANIZATION: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Main duties include: Assisting visitors with life jacket loaner program, Help visitors understand how to use automated fee machine, Issue annual passes, Answer visitor questions, Explain rules of the park, Open gate at 9:00am and close gate at 8:00pm, Inspect park for maintenance issues and report to ranger. Some litter pick up. Schedule will be alternating 4 days on and 4 days off. Average of 24 hours per shift. We provide a campsite with full hook-ups (50/30/20 amp electric, water, and sewer) in exchange for volunteer service.


Volunteers for this positions should be able to work well with others. They should be able to learn information about the park and surrounding area to help assist visitors. Most importantly they should be polite and helpful toward the visitors.


Work Environment consists of primarily working in or around Old Bridge Beach gatehouse. Occasionally make a round through the parking area and beach to check for maintenance issues. Memorial Day through Labor Day ranger staff will be patrolling the park daily. Visitation is steady during the summer, mainly consisting of families.
