Not Defined By FND is a newly founded (April 2024) nonprofit public charity with on a mission to empower individuals living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). We are dedicated to raising awareness, providing support, and advocating for change through education, community-building, and research. Our initiatives include hosting awareness events, sharing educational resources, amplifying personal stories from the FND community, and driving policy change through petitions. Additionally, we offer FND-specific medical alert products to enhance safety and visibility. At Not Defined By FND, we believe in fostering understanding, advancing research, and creating a more supportive world for those impacted by FND.

Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and tech-savvy Volunteer Communications & Marketing Coordinator to assist with a variety of projects that promote our mission and enhance our online presence.

In this role, you will play a key role in helping our young organization establish its voice, expand its reach, and connect with supporters. You’ll contribute to managing and updating digital platforms, creating engaging content, and developing marketing materials to support our programs, events, and campaigns. This flexible, remote position is ideal for individuals passionate about communication, digital media, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Digital Content Management:

    • Assist with updating and maintaining the organization’s website to ensure accurate and up to date information.

    • Manage and update the online store with new products, descriptions, and pricing.

  • Social Media Management:

    • Create and schedule engaging social media posts to raise awareness about FND and the organization’s activities.

    • Monitor social media accounts and respond to comments or messages as needed.

  • Content Creation:

    • Design advertisements, promotional materials, and graphics for online and print use.

    • Create short videos for social media or educational purposes, using tools like Canva, Adobe Premiere, or similar software.

    • Draft blog posts, newsletters, or email updates to keep supporters informed and engaged.

  • Marketing & Outreach:

    • Develop strategies to promote campaigns, events, or new initiatives.

    • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm creative ideas for expanding the organization’s reach and visibility.

  • Analytics & Feedback:

    • Track engagement metrics on digital platforms to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

    • Collect and analyze feedback to refine marketing and communication efforts.

Qualifications
  • Time Commitment: Dedicate approximately 5-10 hours per week, depending on current projects and campaigns. Flexible schedule!

  • Communication:

    • Attend virtual check-ins or team meetings as needed to discuss progress and priorities.

    • Maintain regular communication with team members via email or collaboration tools.

  • Professionalism:

    • Ensure all work aligns with the organization’s mission, values, and branding guidelines.

    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all communications.

  • Independence: Work autonomously while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.

Skills
  • Strong skills in communication, social media, and digital content creation.

  • Experience with website management platforms (e.g., WordPress, Shopify, Wix) is a plus, but not required.

  • Familiarity with design and editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar software) a plus, but not required.

  • Creative mindset and ability to generate fresh ideas for campaigns and materials.
