CAMP VIA WEST: Annual Winterfest Event

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: HandsOn Bay Area

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • Spots available: 10+

Project Overview

Camp Via West is a camp that serves people with disabilities. Every year, we host a Winterfest event. It is a day filled with carnival games, craft stations, live music, and fun!

We are looking for volunteers from 12pm-5pm to support our event by leading a craft station (all instructions provided), run carnival games, help with parking, assist with minimal on-site facilities help (clearing trash bins), and assist with overall foot traffic.

About Camp Via West

Camp Via West's mission is to empower people with disabilities and their families to grow, develop, and thrive by providing essential skill-building and recreational programs.

Project Requirements & Important Notes

  • Festive Holiday attire (holiday sweaters, decorative necklaces, winter animal ears, etc). It is a family-friendly event.

  • Parking will NOT be available at camp. It will be at the Stevens Creek Quarry - 12100 Stevens Canyon Road, Cupertino, CA 95014. There will be shuttles provided by the Camp team for all guests and volunteers to transport to camp and back to the quarry throughout the duration of the event. Volunteers upon arriving to the Camp site will visit the Check-in Table for assignments. There is spotty internet/wifi as the camp and the parking are located in the mountains. It is suggested to map to the location. We are 5-10 minutes from town where service will be available.

  • Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time. For additional resources and guidance on how to keep yourself healthy, visit the CDC website.

If you are interested in signing up as a group, please email sarah@handsonbayarea.org. For a one-time $50 group sign-up fee, we can assist your team with signing up. Please note we are unable to customize our commUNITY calendar projects and are unable to increase the number of spots that are available. For groups wanting a custom project, please refer to our corporate volunteering program.
