Project Overview
The Florence Fang Community Farm is a partner of the SF-Marin Food Bank and serves 350 participating families every week in its food pantry program. Volunteers are needed to help pantry set up, distribute food, breakdown cardboard, and post-pantry clean up. If you have a passion for food security and want to help provide a critical service to the Bayview community, please come out!
About the Florence Fang Community Farm
Established in 2014, the Florence Fang Community Farm is a community site that has served over 100 participating families. They have become the largest community farm and second most productive urban farm in the City.
Project Requirements & Important Notes
Parking is limited. Please park along Williams Ave or take public transportation.
The site is outside on a farm, please wear sturdy, close-toed shoes, and clothes appropriate for the weather.
Volunteers are welcome to help out at the farm after the food pantry is closed. The farm is open till 1pm.
Please do your part in keeping our community healthy. If you are immuno-compromised, at increased risk for severe illness, or feeling sick at all, please decline your registration to the event and register for a project at a less risky time. For additional resources and guidance on how to keep yourself healthy, visit the CDC website.
If you are interested in signing up as a group, please email sarah@handsonbayarea.org. For a one-time $50 group sign-up fee, we can assist your team with signing up. Please note we are unable to customize our commUNITY calendar projects and are unable to increase the number of spots that are available. For groups wanting a custom project, please refer to our corporate volunteering program.
