STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in an advanced STEM-based educational curriculum. We deliver exceptional STEM literacy and application from preschool to high school, preparing students for global competitiveness in science, technology, engineering, and math.
Cell Biology Teacher :
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Cell Biology Teacher to join our team and provide expert instruction to students studying the microscopic structure of tissues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in histology and excellent teaching skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic laboratory techniques such as cell culture, microscopy, and aseptic procedures under the guidance of experienced researchers.
- Help maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper handling of samples to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Participate in data collection and recording observations accurately in laboratory notebooks or digital systems.
- Support ongoing experiments by preparing solutions, media, and other materials needed for cell biology research.
- Assist in analyzing experimental results, including basic data entry and preliminary analysis under supervision.
- Contribute to laboratory maintenance tasks such as restocking supplies, cleaning glassware, and organizing storage areas.
- Attend lab meetings and participate in discussions to learn about current research projects and methodologies in cell biology.
Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in cell biology concepts, typically demonstrated through relevant coursework or prior laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques such as microscopy, cell culture, and aseptic procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols accurately and maintain meticulous records of experiments and observations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure proper handling of samples and maintenance of a clean laboratory environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with researchers and contribute to team discussions.
- Commitment to learning new techniques and adapting to the evolving needs of ongoing cell biology research projects.
- Willingness to commit to a regular schedule and adhere to protocols and ethical guidelines.
