Classroom Support for Visually Impaired Student
ORGANIZATION: Adult Education
Please visit the new page to apply.
Delightful visually-impaired Adult English as a Second Language (ESL) student needs one on one support by a patient, reliable, calm and focused volunteer during regular ESL classes. For example, you will follow the teacher's instructions to assist the student to quietly read in-class assignments and transcribe his verbal answers within the classroom setting. The need is ideally Mon-Friday, 9 am -12 pm, however realistically 2 shifts, such as Mon, Tues, Wed 9-12 pm (or just Mon, Tues) or possibly, Thur, Fri, 9-12 pm. Some flexibility available for your schedule is possible too, but consistency is strongly desired. You will be asked to complete a volunteer application required by the district office, which takes a few weeks. If you can meet the schedule, I am happy to answer questions.
