L.A. Works needs your help to spread the word about upcoming volunteer events!

Why: Even with a 33-year track record, there are still communities that don't know they can use L.A Works to engage in volunteer events all over the city and county. The more we can reach them, the more volunteers we can connect to programs. It's a win-win for both volunteer and deserving nonprofits!

Who: L.A. Works was founded in 1991 to harness LA's volunteer power. Each year we mobilize more than 25,000 volunteers to address critical issues impacting our community, with the goal to unite Angelenos and inspire action for a more equitable Los Angeles.

What to Expect:

We're asking for YOUR help in reaching YOUR community with printed postcards about upcoming events.

As Canvassing Crew, you will work with Raymond, the RSVP Outreach Coordinator, to receive postcards and instructions on distributing them. In November and December, we will be focused on distributing postcards for our HOLIDAYS landing page (featuring all holiday-related opportunities from now until the end of December). We will also begin distributing postcards for our annual MLK Day event on January 20th at the L.A. Coliseum.

We have a guide and supportive instructions on how to respectfully approach a business about setting out postcards. Past canvassers have said it was actually a great way to get to know their community.

Where: The pickup location is listed below. You are not expected to distribute postcards in this area.We are asking that you focus on local coffee shops, restaurants, community gatherings, and other spaces in the areas where you live, work, and/or love to frequent.

When: The date listed is the end date for this round of Canvassing Crew. However, the need is ongoing, and you can start to help as soon as you have cards.

What's Required: Express Interest and Raymond will schedule a time with you to receive your postcards and instructions. We simply ask that if you take materials, you follow through with getting them out into your community.
