Join us in this virtual workshop to empower and mentor young professionals who are a part of our VISTA program.
Why: Studies have shown that 87% of mentees feel more empowered and confident after being mentored, which is shown to be an effective way in increasing career readiness in young people by a huge margin; .
Who: AmeriCorps VISTA members build capacity in nonprofit organizations and public agencies to help them more effectively generate the commitment of private sector resources, encourage volunteer service at the local level, and empower individuals and communities. AmeriCorps VISTA members serve full time for one-year terms.
What to Expect: We are organizing a series of volunteer-led workshops with various nonprofit partners like AmeriCorps VISTA to prepare young adults for new jobs and opportunities that will lead to a fulfilling career. Topics may include networking, interview skills, resume, cover letter writing, financial literacy and more.
What's Required*: You do not have to be an expert at any of these topics. The presentation and breakout room activities will be emailed to you to view beforehand so you are well prepared for entering the workshop.
