Volunteers needed to support the American Red Cross mission, especially in light of recent events following the devastation from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, impacting communities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Florida. To ensure we have the volunteer capacity to support those affected, we are offering a Just-In-Time training session for community members interested in Sheltering. This training will help replace our dedicated volunteers who have been actively assisting in these regions over the past several weeks.

What Do Shelter Teams Do?
Shelter teams play a crucial role in large-scale disaster response, managing day-to-day shelter operations such as reception, registration, meal services, dormitory management, and more. Free online and in-person training will be provided. Volunteers must be available to travel to affected areas and commit to a minimum of 14 consecutive days, with 8-12-hour shifts daily. The American Red Cross will cover the cost of training and travel.
