Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable volunteer to assist with managing our Hope Works Food Pantry. This pantry plays a critical role in supporting individuals in our job training programs by providing them with the food and essentials they need. As a Pantry Assistant, you’ll help us keep the pantry organized, stocked, and running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Sort Donations: Help organize food and supplies donated by local businesses and organizations.
- Inventory Management: Check expiration dates on items, rotate stock to ensure freshness, and help maintain an up-to-date inventory.
- Keep Pantry Clean & Organized: Ensure shelves and storage areas are neat and accessible for program participants.
- Occasional Pickup Assistance: Once a month, help with picking up food donations from a location in Arlington (optional-this is not a requirement but would be greatly appreciated!).
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and move boxes or bags of food.
- Ability to commit to volunteering at least twice a month for a minimum of 3 months.
- Must be organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently or with others.
- A friendly, team-oriented attitude and a desire to help others.
Preferred Shift Dates & Times:
We are seeking a volunteer to assist during our business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This role requires a commitment of approximately 1-2 hours per visit, with a frequency of twice per month to handle organizational tasks.

We recognize that it takes a combination of housing and support services to give struggling families opportunities to become self-sufficient. Our programs offer critical support to families at each step of the process.
