ORGANIZATION: Heart for Winter Haven

Jobs for Life, is a 7 week class that is a faith-based workforce readiness program that we offer to our clients and community members. Here's a great (quick!) video to dive a little into the purpose of the Jobs for Life.

Joining the class every week as a "Champion". The purpose of a Champion is to walk alongside the participants in the class and function as a mentor and supporter to them throughout the class. Ideally, Champions are at every class and check in with participants between classes on how they are doing, how their "required tasks" are coming along, and how they might pray for them.

We firmly believe that poverty has been misdiagnosed; it is not solely about lacking materials resources, but rather rooted in broken relationships. Our mission is to bring people together through collaborations that restore relationships, build resources and grow communities. By December 31, 2030 our ultimate objective is to ensure that there isn't a single homeless child in Winter Haven.

Description

We are a team of dedicated members in our community who desire to connect, alleviate, restore, and elevate Polk county in reaching our goals of ending childhood homelessness.
