Position Overview
The Surgical Techniques Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching fundamental surgical techniques, assisting in virtual demonstrations of surgical procedures, and providing students with feedback and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surgical Procedure Support: Assist in demonstrating virtual surgical techniques, focusing on precision and safety.
  • Teaching Support: Lead online discussion sessions, hold office hours, and help with course materials.
  • Grading: Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, and maintain student progress records.
  • Student Assistance: Provide clarification and guidance to students on surgical technique mastery and procedural safety.
  • Virtual Lab Assistance: Assist students in virtual exercises and simulations related to surgical techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surgery, Biology, or a related field; graduate students preferred.
  • Strong understanding of basic surgical techniques and procedures.
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in an accessible manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
