Position Overview
The Plastic Surgery Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching introductory plastic surgery concepts, conducting virtual demonstrations of surgical techniques, and assisting students with their learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Surgical Technique Demonstrations: Assist in demonstrating virtual surgical procedures, including preparation and post-operative care.
- Teaching Support: Lead online discussion sessions, conduct Q&A hours, and assist with course materials.
- Grading: Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, and maintain student progress records.
- Student Support: Provide clarification and assistance to students in understanding plastic surgery techniques and anatomy.
- Virtual Lab Assistance: Help guide students through virtual lab exercises related to surgical skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Plastic Surgery, Biology, or a related field; graduate students preferred.
- Strong understanding of plastic surgery principles and procedures.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex topics in an accessible manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
