Position Overview
The Emergency Medicine Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching introductory emergency medicine courses, conducting virtual simulations, and assisting students in practical and theoretical aspects of emergency care.
Key Responsibilities
- Simulation Support: Assist in conducting virtual emergency medicine simulations and role-playing exercises.
- Teaching Support: Lead online discussion sessions, facilitate group activities, and assist with course materials.
- Grading: Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, and maintain student records.
- Student Assistance: Provide clarification and support for students’ understanding of key concepts in emergency care.
- Resource Development: Help develop educational materials related to emergency medicine scenarios.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related field; graduate students preferred.
- Strong understanding of emergency medical procedures and protocols.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex medical topics in an accessible manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
