Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance and Accounting Lead (Volunteer) to oversee our financial operations, provide strategic insights, and ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in finance or accounting who is passionate about using their expertise to support a cause-driven organization. As a key member of the team, you will manage CSA’s financial health, improve fiscal efficiency, and provide financial oversight to enhance organizational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management and Planning:
    Develop and implement financial strategies and policies to ensure effective management of CSA’s resources and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    Prepare and monitor annual budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets and adjusting forecasts as necessary.

  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for leadership and the board, providing clear insights into CSA’s financial performance.

  • Team Collaboration:
    Work closely with CSA’s executive team, board members, interns, and program leads to align financial planning with organizational priorities, and provide training on budget management and financial literacy.

  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
    Ensure robust internal controls are in place to protect CSA’s financial resources, comply with nonprofit regulations, and prepare for annual audits.

  • Expense Tracking and Reconciliation:
    Manage day-to-day expense tracking and reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all financial transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.

  • Extensive experience in financial management, preferably within a nonprofit organization.

  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.

  • Familiarity with nonprofit accounting regulations, grant management, and donor compliance requirements.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with various departments.

  • High degree of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.

  • Passion for nonprofit work and dedication to supporting vulnerable communities.

Location: Remote
Role Type: Volunteer (Part-time)
Time Commitment: Approximately 8 hours per week, flexible schedule.
