The Center for Societal Aspiration (CSA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving vulnerable populations, including individuals facing homelessness, addiction, and poverty. CSA uses socially-driven technology to bridge gaps in access to essential community resources and strives to empower individuals and create lasting positive change within marginalized communities.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Community Relations Volunteer to help build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, partners, and stakeholders. This volunteer will support CSA’s efforts to engage with community members, raise awareness about our programs, and foster connections that contribute to the growth and success of CSA’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Outreach:
Assist in identifying and connecting with local community organizations, service providers, and advocacy groups to increase CSA’s visibility and build partnerships that further our mission.Engagement Initiatives:
Support the development and execution of community engagement activities such as informational sessions, outreach events, and town halls to raise awareness about CSA’s programs and resources.Relationship Building:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with local community leaders, partners, and stakeholders to ensure continued support for CSA’s initiatives. Foster a sense of collaboration and shared purpose.Advocacy and Representation:
Represent CSA at community events, meetings, and other public forums. Advocate for CSA’s mission and programs to increase awareness and garner support from community members and local businesses.Volunteer Coordination:
Assist in recruiting and coordinating community volunteers for CSA’s programs, events, and initiatives. Help manage volunteer schedules, communications, and engagement efforts to ensure successful participation.Feedback and Impact Reporting:
Collect feedback from community members and partners on CSA’s programs and services. Help compile this data to improve CSA’s offerings and communicate the impact of our work to the broader community.Resource Distribution:
Assist in distributing flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials to local organizations, community centers, schools, and businesses to increase visibility for CSA’s programs and services.Event Planning Support:
Provide logistical and administrative support for community-focused events, such as resource fairs, informational sessions, and community outreach events, ensuring all elements are executed smoothly.
Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with diverse community groups.
Passion for community development and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively.
Comfortable representing CSA in a variety of settings, including community meetings and public events.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and proactive attitude.
Experience in community relations, volunteer management, or nonprofit work is a plus, but not required.
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to take initiative to help CSA expand its community presence.
Passion for supporting CSA’s mission and a commitment to improving the lives of individuals facing poverty, homelessness, and addiction.
Location: Remote (with local community outreach within the Dallas and Tarrant County areas)
Role Type: Volunteer (Part-time)
Time Commitment: Approximately 8 hours per week, flexible schedule.
