ORGANIZATION: ASSE International Student Exchange

Responsibilities: - Recruit and screen host families for international students - Provide ongoing support and guidance to exchange students and host families - Conduct orientations for students and host families - Match students with suitable host families based on preferences and compatibility - Monitor the well-being and academic progress of students placed - Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise between students and host families - Collaborate with schools, parents, and students to ensure a positive cultural exchange experience Requirements: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Ability to build relationships with diverse individuals and communities - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Knowledge of educational systems and cultural differences - Ability to educate others about cultural diversity and promote understanding

ASSE's mission is to foster international understanding through educational and cross cultural programs.

Description

The history of ASSE goes back to 1938 when the Swedish Ministry of Education instituted an exchange program for Swedish and German students. In the post World War II era, this was expanded to include Great Britain, France, Spain, and Switzerland and later the United States, where ASSE was established in 1976, by the Swedish Government, as the American Scandinavian Student Exchange. Soon Denmark, Norway and Finland elected to participate. Since then, the program has grown to include many additional countries such as Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Czech Republic, Estonia, Ukraine, Mexico, Canada, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and many more.
